May 12 is International Migratory Bird Day. Bird migration is a fascinating topic. The Sandhill cranes that travel by the thousands from the Arctic Circle, western Alaska and Canada to spend fall and winter along the Rio Grande are an incredible sight to see and hear.
I participated in the Art Off the Walls event 8 times when it was held in the basement of the Truax building in Old Town Temecula over the past 2+ years. It moved to the Temecula Civic Center at the start of this year. There is less room in the Civic Center, so fewer people can display their work.
It's always a lot of work to get all of your stuff over to the site and set everything up, but the experience makes it worthwhile. I met a lot of interesting people and was fortunate to sell a few prints. I went home tired, but happy that I had participated.
I'll be participating in the First Friday event on May 4, 2018 at Temecula City Hall from 6-9 PM. This will be my first time exhibiting my work since the event moved from the basement of the Truax building earlier this year, so I am looking forward to it.
